Standing still is not in my nature. Every new build presents unique challenges and motivating rewards.”

Cummins powered 1927 Ford coupe
Completed in 2011, this ‘Rat rod’ Dyno’d at 855 horsepower and 1504 ft/lbs of torque to the rear wheels! With its compound turbos, this monster of a car was known to produce tire smoke from rolling highway speeds, terrify passengers and drawing large crowds at public dyno events.
Picture
1927 Ford roadster, completed in 2014.
Powered by a mild 350ci Oldsmobile V8, the roadster is a nice “low and slow” type Sunday driver with a mix of bark and bite.
Picture
1929 Ford speedster built in 2016.
The 1929 Ford speedster known as “The Paper Bag Princess” is powered by a ported 13B Mazda rotary and weighs just 1260 lbs. With its excellent power to weight ratio, great balance, quick steering and narrow tires, the paper bag princess is pure joy to drive in every weather condition or on any terrain.  Street, dirt, mud or ice, this princess… is no princess.

1962 Ferrari 156 ‘sharknose’ Grand Prix replica.
With full carbon fibre bodywork, tube chassis and a 6-speed sequential Hayabusa power plant, the sharknose represented a growth of craftsmanship. Learning of the destruction of all original Ferrari 156’s in 1963 presented an opportunity to not only stretch Brandons skillset, but also experience the feeling of driving an extinct legend. The ‘sharknose’ was completed in 2021.

1966 Dino 206sp (sport prototype) chassis #022 replica.
Jaw dropping body lines that begged to be recreated and street driven. With a space-frame chassis, carbon fibre bodywork, a reliable Nissan V6, stand-alone fuel injection and Audi 5 speed gearbox, the 206sp remains Brandons personal car and was built from scratch in just 19 months spanning 2021 and 2022.
Picture
1967 Ferrari 412p replica.
With parts collected for over a decade, including original Campagnolo wheels, the 330p4/412p was a lifelong dream build for not only one eager gentleman, but Brandon as well.  Fate brought the two together in 2023 where a full carbon fibre body was created, an existing custom chassis was completed, and a 5.5L Jenvey injected Ferrari V12 was installed, all in one year’s time.

Genuine 1966 Ford GT40 Mk1, chassis P/1114.
This genuine GT40 was delivered to Brandon in late 2024 by an avid collector to have its systems inspected, refurbished, parts documented, an engine test fit, and readied to receive its eventual Gurney Westlake powerplant. Untouched since 1981 and with 2172 original miles, she is not being fully restored at risk of losing her “soul”. Receiving a mechanical refreshment while maintaining the hard-earned patina is the respectful way to save and honor a piece of motorsport history such as this.  This vehicles history is an honor to be a part of. (P/1114 is an original, genuine, Ford GT40, and is the very last original GT40 in existence by chassis number order.   *Ronnie Spain, author and GT40 historian*)

Ford RS200 KaRa replica
Imported from the UK and belonging to a local collector, Brandon has upgraded the car from its original gearbox, built axles and fabricated parts for, and assists in maintaining this Cosworth powered fire breathing rally replica.

Recent project - 2025 to Feb 2026
1982 Lancia 037 Group-B rally car.  The group-B rally years of 1982-1986 are well known for being some of the most unregulated and dangerous in any genre of motorsport, thanks in large part to Lancia’s 2wd ‘037 rally’ and loose interpretations of the rule book.  With a goal to create an attainable, road-going, reliable, and maintainable group-B replica, this client project is based off a Lancia Montecarlo with a complete cage and tube chassis. Power is by way of an Audi 1.8T redesigned with a supercharger and followed by a 5-speed gearbox. The bodywork is a mix of Fibreglass and Kevlar provided from England.  The finished project featured stand-alone fuel injection, modern suspension by Intrax, and Italian sourced 3 piece wheels. Project updates can be followed on Instagram:  Instagram@howisthatstreetlegal

Past ‘nonsense’ projects
Not every project needs to be serious.  Sometimes a silly idea that makes people laugh just needs to find its way out and become a reality.
Picture
Teeny-Weeny-Lamborghini began life as a child’s electric ride-on car.  With some thoughtful cutting and a tiny fabricated chassis, it was able to accept a fully built 212cc engine producing 10hp stuffed into a 22” wheelbase. If it could be described in two words, they would be “dangerous” and “Hilarious”.
Picture
Children’s hot rod Radio Flyer wagon.
When hunting for parts at swap-meets, or wandering car shows with small children in tow, its best to tow them in style.
Picture
3hp “Micro bike” was born out of wondering “how small could one build a functional mini-bike?” It was SMALL, but smaller is still possible…
Picture
Hot rod Radio Flyer go kart. Built at the age of 15 by utilizing a 3hp flathead and a 10oz nitrous kit with the smallest jet available. As foolish teenagers, a friend reached 51mph on the street behind my house. After telling my parents about this speed run, rather than scolding us, my mother told us to wear a helmet and my father brought home better-quality wheel bearings the next day. This was sold in 2013.
Picture
Blue mini-kart was another experiment in size vs. viability.  With a 212cc engine and torque clutch, a cat-walk will be in order if the rider is not leaning forward.
