1982 Lancia 037 Rally reproduction
The WRC group B rally years of 1982-1986 are well known for being some of the most untamed and dangerous in any genre of motorsport, thanks in no small part to Lancia and numerous teams’ loose interpretation and exploitation of the rule book. Based off of a Lancia Montecarlo platform, their rear-wheel-drive 037 competed fiercely with Audi’s mighty all-wheel-drive Quattro, and in 1983 Lancia took the manufacturers title.
With a goal to create an attainable, reliable, and maintainable group-B replica, this client project is likewise based off of a Lancia Montecarlo with a complete cage and tube chassis. With an ironic twist, power is by way of an Audi 1.8T redesigned with a supercharger in place of a usual turbo. A twin disc clutch allows power through a 5-speed gearbox. Other major parts are Maserati based or completely custom fabricated including a number of modern design upgrades. The bodywork is a mix of Fibreglass and Kevlar provided from Italy. Now complete with programmable fuel injection and PDM, modern suspension by Intrax, and Italian sourced authentic 3-piece wheels.
The project began in February of 2025 and was delivered in February of 2026.
